Waterfalls
Waterfalls in the Bryson City area are beautiful and impressive natural features, and they're a great reward at the end of a hike. One of our favorite waterfalls near Bryson City is actually a trio of waterfalls on one easy hike; the Deep Creek Waterfall Loop.
Whitewater Rafting
If you're new to whitewater rafting, then the Nantahala River is a great place to begin. It is best known for entry level whitewater and one of the most rafted streams in the country. The majority of the run is class two whitewater, with Nantahala Falls - at the end of the run - a class three rapid. Take the plunge and experience the adrenaline rush only rafting can bring!
Train Excursions
The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad’s many excursions, available on both steam and diesel engine locomotives that offer air-conditioned or open-air cabins, will take you on gentle turns up our mountainsides, through tunnels and mountain valleys, over sparkling waterways and, of course, with beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountains
